Your website is based on a Content Management System called WordPress. This system allows you to login into your website and make changes to your content. You can also create new pages and add new features. While this system is a bit advanced the basics can be learned fairly quickly. WordPress is very popular and you will find plenty of online documentation for help as well as books at your local book store (WordPress for Dummies) etc.

Content is everything created and displayed on the pages of your website. This includes pictures, text, movies, music, social media feeds and so much more. Having compelling content is critical to getting potential new customers interested in your business and retaining your current customer base. We offer a Content Upload service which is meant to help those people whom do not want to take the time to learn how to use the Website CMS.  In this case clients can send us their content with instructions on how they want it displayed on the website and we will upload it for them.  We also offer a Content Creation service.  This service is for those clients whom do not want to be involved creatively or technically.  These clients can contact us and inform us of what they want added or changed on the website and we will take care of it from designing the content to uploading.

City guides have become very popular tools for people who are searching for local goods and services. These websites either automatically compile all business data or require the buiness owner to create an account and setup their business information. Then people can search all the listings and give feedback about those businesses. Yelp, Google Places, Yahoo Local and City Search are all good examples of popular City Guides. We offer setup and monitoring services to track how your business is being featured and reviewed on these services. Then we keep you informed each month of changes and recommend actions you can take that would be helpful to your business.

Website Hosting is the service of connecting computers (a specially designed computer called a server) to the internet and allowing people to load websites on those servers. We have a hosting partner where we will establish an account for you and pay all costs related to your hosting account for as long as you are with us. If you cancel your account with us you will have 30 days to transfer your website to a new hosting provider of your choosing. After the 30 days we will remove your website to make room for new clients.

Setting up a website is a time consuming process that involves many steps. Each of these steps is critical and most of them we have to pay fees to get started along with spending our time to put everything together. Since we don’t require long-term contracts we have no way to know if we will recover these up-front costs over time. So we have a one-time setup fee to help offset these costs. Social Media websites are setup to allow people to keep in touch. Much of this technology flows over to the business world and especially with B2C types of business. If your business has a facebook page or twitter feed we offer links from your website to those services. How can these social media sites benefit you? You see at the bottom of our site that we use twitter for our business by tweeting about our current promotions. Tweets are simple to send out from any computer or mobile smart phone. This feature allows us to announce specials to our customers without needing to make changes to our website. These tweets can just as easily be used in your business. For example “Tuesday from 1pm to 3pm get a car wash for $3 when you mention this ad” or “Stop in tonight for a 25¢ draft beer”. We can also help you establish your business on these services for an additional fee.

If you currently have an email address we include setting up a website forwarding address for you. This means that any emails coming into your website will automatically be forwarded to your current email address. This solution works perfectly for 99% of our clients and is the setup we use ourselves. Gmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo mail are great services and most people are already familiar with using those email systems. For advanced users who require email addresses at your own business name we offer setting up new email accounts on your website for an additional fee. If you need to purchase some stock photography or videos for your website we recommend this company: Pond5 Stock Footage. Previously we recommended iStock but they have an expiration date on all credits you purchase. We have a problem with throwing away customer’s money simply because they don’t spend credit quickly enough.
